Forty percent of Brits agree with comments made by Lord Heseltine that the 2024 General Election could be the most “dishonest” in a lifetime.

Lord Heseltine made his comments at an event to mark the 75th anniversary of the European Movement, which promotes closer ties between the UK and Europe.

He is quoted as saying: “It is going to be the most dishonest general election of my life. Why? Because it’s going to talk about all the problems, but avoid any of the real solutions which depend upon a closer relationship with Europe.

“There are defence issues. There are environmental issues. There is immigration.

“Wherever you look, the solutions for a British government lie in conjunction with our neighbours.”

Only 15% disagreed with the former Deputy Prime Minister with 44% saying they neither agreed nor disagreed.
