BRITAIN PREDICTS: Voters have their say on what 2024 holds

Voters predict a 2024 which will feature a general election, the end of Rishi Sunak’s leadership, no big-time returns for Donald Trump or Boris Johnson and no Euros win for England, according to a new WeThink poll.

More than two thirds of Brits are also pessimistic about 2024, saying it will be no better for them or their families. 

The WeThink poll revealed: 

ON UK POLITICS

  • 63% said Rishi Sunak be replaced as Conservative leader v 27% 
  • 81% said there will be a general election in 2024 v 19% no 
  • 68% said Boris Johnson will not return to frontline politics v 32% yes 

ON RWANDA 

  • 62% said deportation flights to Rwanda will not happen v 28% who said they will 

ON CONFLICTS

  • 71% said there will not be an end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2024 v 29% who said yes? 
  • 64% said there will be no end to the Israel-Hamas conflict v 36% who said yes 

BEST OF THE REST 

  • 74% said Donald Trump will not become President of the United States again v 26% who said he will 
  • 77% said Prince Harry be not welcomed back into the Royal Family v 23% who think he will 
  • 58% said England will not win Euro 2024 in Germany next summer v 42% who said yes they will 

And finally, we asked voters if they feel 2024 will be a better, similar or worse year for them and their families. Here’s what they said:

In our regular weekly voter intention trackers, Labour’s lead over the Conservatives rose by another point to 21 this week while the Prime Minister’s net approval fell by five to –24.
