Dynamic pricing plan could hit pubs in the pocket, poll discovers
By: Mike Underwood
Plans by pub bosses to increase prices at peak times could lead to customer boycotts amid a wave of opposition, a new WeThink poll has revealed.
The owners of the Slug & Lettuce and Yates’s pub chain has announced plans to introduce dynamic pricing which would see prices rise at 800 venues during peak hours. It hasn’t gone down well with voters…
I would avoid dynamic price pubs
I would still go to dynamic price pubs
Overall, more than half (55%) disagreed with the plan with only 17% agreeing and more than a quarter of people (28%) said neither.
CHINA SPY ALLEGATION HARMS RELATIONS
Meanwhile, a new WeThink poll has shown that the public’s confidence in the UK-China relationship has taken a blow after a parliamentary researcher was arrested for allegedly spying for China. (NB: The suspect has insisted he is 'completely innocent').
We asked Brits if they agree or not that China is an ally of the UK:
Disagree, China is not an ally
Agree, China is an ally
WeThink also asked if Brits agreed or not that the UK works too closely with China:
MOST BRITS BACK LABOUR PLANS TO TACKLE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
WeThink also asked voters their thoughts on new Labour proposals to tackle illegal immigration.
Firstly, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said he wants to strike a new returns agreement with the EU which would see the UK accept a quota of migrants from the bloc in return for sending back people who arrive illegally. Do Brits support of oppose the plan?
Sir Keir also proposed that criminals involved in cross-Channel people-smuggling would be treated as terrorists under his policy. WeThink asked if people agreed or disagreed with this:
They should be classed as terrorists
They should not be classed as terrorists
ON VOTER INTENTION
The Conservatives continued a mini-fight back in the polls as they clawed back points for the second consecutive week and Labour’s lead fell by three to 17 points.
