Only one in five British voters would back the Conservatives in the General Election, the party’s lowest-ever vote share since WeThink began polling in October 2022.

At the same time, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak recorded his lowest-ever net approval score as it sunk to –32 for the first time.

In the wake of the first TV debate of the General Election campaign between Mr Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader also saw his net approval surge to a record high of +14.
